The California Citrus Research Board (CRB), in collaboration with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), the University of California, Riverside (UCR), and numerous industry partners, is excited to announce the upcoming 7th International Research Conference on Huanglongbing (IRCHLB VII). This significant event is scheduled to take place from March 26 to March 29, 2024, at the Riverside Convention Center in Riverside, California, USA.
Historically, the IRCHLB conferences have attracted a global audience, with over 400 attendees representing more than 20 countries. As in the previous six conferences, the primary objective of IRCHLB VII is to bring together a dynamic and diverse group of international researchers, regulatory agencies, and commercial industry leaders, all of whom share a specific interest in citrus and are dedicated to finding potential solutions to combat the bacterial graft transmissible disease known as Huanglongbing (HLB). The conference will serve as a platform for the exchange of the latest information, knowledge, and technological advancements related to this disease. Given that the last conference, IRCHLB VI, was held in 2019, there is great anticipation for the unveiling of new and exciting scientific developments.
The overarching theme of IRCHLB VII is “Transitioning Research to Field Reality.” Presenters at the conference will place a strong emphasis on bridging the gap between scientific discoveries and practical applications within the citrus commercial industry. The technical sessions will delve into a variety of crucial topics, including vector control, the breeding of resistant and tolerant scion and rootstock varieties, host/pathogen/vector interactions, and the implementation of strategies—specifically, a detailed analysis of what has proven effective and what has not.
Mark your calendars for this pivotal event in the world of citrus research, as IRCHLB VII promises to be a forum for groundbreaking insights and the integration of science into real-world solutions. We look forward to welcoming attendees from across the globe to Riverside, California, for this essential gathering.
To plan the scientific program, CRB has set a hard deadline of September 26 for abstract submission. Follow the instructions at IRCHLB.com for abstract preparation and submission.
